The right storage technology for the application.
eQube builds and integrates energy storage technologies for BESS and data centre applications. We're currently scaling sodium-ion battery cells — built on proprietary electrode materials — as our first platform, with other storage technologies on the roadmap as they fit customer needs.
Our first platform: sodium-ion
eQube isn't wedded to one chemistry — we choose the storage technology that fits the application. For today's BESS and data centre requirements, sodium-ion is the strongest starting point:
Abundant feedstock
Sodium is drawn from globally distributed, low-cost reserves — no dependence on lithium or cobalt supply chains.
Thermal stability
Chemistry with a wider safety margin suits fixed installations where cells sit dense, for years, without a service stop.
Cost predictability
Stable input pricing gives BESS project economics a foundation that isn't tied to lithium market swings.
Built for fixed installs
Optimised for cycle life and footprint efficiency in racks and containers, not for weight-constrained mobility.
What we do
Three connected capabilities, from storage technology through to the system that puts it to work.
Proprietary electrode materials, scaling to large format
In-house R&D on sodium-ion active materials and electrode processes — our first storage technology platform — moving from validated small-format cells toward large-format manufacturing with AI-enabled process control for defect reduction and throughput.
Building the layer between cell and installation
In parallel with cell development, we're building battery management system and system integration capability so our cells arrive as a deployable BESS building block, not just a component.
Advisory for EV and BESS storage programs
Independent technical consultancy for teams working on storage programs across EV and BESS — drawing on hands-on R&D, manufacturing, and systems experience.
Where our storage goes
Battery Energy Storage Systems
Grid-scale and behind-the-meter storage, where cycle life, safety margin, and cost per cycle decide the economics of a project over a decade of operation.
Data centre power
Backup and load-shifting power for data centres, where storage sits in dense racks under continuous duty — a use case that rewards thermal stability as much as capacity.
Scaling sodium-ion today, building the storage platform for tomorrow.
